RIOT CITY – LEGENDS at KIT

Riot City haben ihre ganz eigene Erfolgsgeschichte beim Keep It True: Als Opener brachten sie am 1. Oktober 2022 um die Mittagszeit die Halle zum Glühen. Von 0 auf 180 – Highspeed am Mittag! Damit setzten sie ein massives Ausrufezeichen bei den Fans in Europa.

Mit anschließenden Touren und dem Meisterwerk Electric Elite brillierten sie fortan auf dem gesamten Kontinent – egal ob beim Up The Hammers, dem Black Forest Fest oder in der Zille.

Nachdem im vergangenen Jahr der Auftritt beim KIT Rising ins Wasser fiel, wurde der Gig nun auf der noch größeren Legions-Bühne nachgeholt. Dabei zeigte sich erneut: Jordan und seinen Jungs stehen die großen Bretter der Welt genauso gut wie intime Clubs mit einer 10-Quadratmeter-Bühne.

Ein klarer Beweis dafür, dass Riot City längst keine „nur eine von vielen“-Band mehr sind, liegt neben der unglaublichen Performance und den brachialen Heavy-Metal-Hymnen auch am Merch-Stand: Wie einst bei Motörhead trägt mittlerweile jeder, der etwas auf sich hält, ein Riot City-Shirt.

Sicherlich konnte die Band – die erneut mit Aidan Desmarais anstelle von Roldan Reimer an der zweiten Gitarre antrat – nicht ganz ihr volles Potenzial entfalten wie noch 14 Tage zuvor im intimen Rahmen des Schwarzen Keilers. Die acht Songs von Burn the Night und Electric Elite konnten den Massen des Keep It True Legions dennoch mächtig einheizen.

Vor dem Konzert ging noch die Parole durch das Publikum, dass eventuell schon ein neuer Song der für 2027 geplanten Platte gespielt werden könnte. Jordan verriet gegenüber Hard & Live jedoch, dass sich die Band dagegen entschieden habe: „Wenn wir diese neuen Songs spielen, dann werden sie absolut perfekt sein und genau zeigen, was Riot City nach Electric Elite nachlegen kann!“

So bleibt nach diesem wunderbaren Konzert – bei dem Basser Dustin während „In the Dark“ sogar seine kleine Tochter bei sich auf der Bühne hatte – ein extrem spannender Bogen erhalten, bis Riot City als die elektrische Elite der Neuzeit ihr kommendes Material präsentieren.

Herzlichen Dank an diese überragende Band für die fantastische Show sowie an das Keep It True-Team und No Remorse Records dafür, dass wir Riot City wieder auf der großen KIT-Bühne erleben durften!

RIOT CITY have their very own success story at Keep It True: As the opening act on October 1, 2022, they set the hall ablaze around noon. From 0 to 180 – high speed at lunchtime! With this, they made a massive statement to European fans.

With subsequent tours and their masterpiece Electric Elite, they continued to shine across the entire continent – whether at Up The Hammers, the Black Forest Fest, or at Zille.

After last year’s performance at KIT Rising fell through, the gig was now made up for on the even larger Legions stage. Once again, it was clear: Jordan and his guys suit the world’s big stages just as well as intimate clubs with a 10-square-meter stage.

Clear proof that Riot City is no longer „just another band“ can be seen not only in their incredible performance and fierce heavy metal anthems, but also at the merch stand: Just like with Motörhead back in the day, anyone who considers themselves anyone now wears a Riot City shirt.

To be sure, the band – once again featuring Aidan Desmarais on second guitar instead of Roldan Reimer – could not quite unleash their full potential as they had 14 days earlier in the intimate setting of Schwarzer Keiler. Nevertheless, the eight songs from Burn the Night and Electric Elite managed to thoroughly heat up the crowds at Keep It True Legions.

Before the concert, word went around the audience that a new song from the album planned for 2027 might be played. However, Jordan revealed to Hard&Live that the band decided against it: „When we play these new songs, they will be absolutely perfect and show exactly what Riot City can deliver after Electric Elite!“

So after this wonderful concert – during which bassist Dustin even had his young daughter on stage with him during „In the Dark“ – an extremely exciting anticipation remains until Riot City, as the electric elite of modern times, present their upcoming material.
